Gwalia United u17s has announced a new partnership with CM Utilities U17s team, bringing investment and support to the development of women’s and girls’ football in South Wales. The partnership will see CM Utilities provide additional kit for the squad alongside ongoing support designed to strengthen the club’s pathway provision for young female players.
The announcement comes at a pivotal time for Gwalia, with the u17s within their first competitive year at that age group.
Deb Ball, Gwalia United’s Pathway Manager, who organised the partnership alongside CM Utilities’ Rhys Thomas, welcomed the partnership, saying it would make a real difference to the players and the club’s wider ambitions.
“This partnership with CM Utilities means so much to our U17s and to Gwalia United as a whole,” said Ball. “Investment like this isn’t just about providing support – it tells our players that their development matters, and that people believe in what we’re building. Strengthening our pathway is about giving girls in South Wales a genuine route into the game, and having a partnerships like this behind us makes that so much more achievable.”
Rhys Thomas, from CM Utilities, said the company was proud to back grassroots talent in the local community.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Gwalia United’s u17s,” said Thomas. “Supporting women’s and girls’ football at grassroots level is something we feel strongly about, and it was important to us to back a club that’s clearly committed to developing young players the right way.
