Gwalia United vs AFC Wimbledon – 25/08/2024
The Gwalia chapter of this storied club is now truly up and running, following a solid 1-0 victory over league newcomers AFC Wimbledon. The Dons entered the match on the back of a 1-1 draw in their previous game, a result they felt should have yielded all three points.
Manager Fern made two changes to the starting lineup, with Jessie Taylor and Ellie Lake, who was making her debut, coming in for Tia Asker and Ruby Scahill, who moved to the bench.
The game was heavily influenced by the strong wind conditions, which made it difficult for both teams to play their usual game. However, Gwalia United adapted well and emerged as the stronger side.
