Gwalia United Heading to the Royal Welsh Show

Gwalia United is delighted to announce that the club will be attending this year’s Royal Welsh Show, with players and coaches delivering a fun football coaching session for children on the opening day of the event.

Taking place on Monday, 20 July, the session will give youngsters the opportunity to take part in engaging activities and meet members of one of Wales’ leading women’s football clubs. The coaching experience has been designed to be enjoyable and inclusive, welcoming children of all abilities to get involved. As one of Wales’ leading women’s football clubs, Gwalia United is committed to growing the game across the country and inspiring the next generation of players. The Royal Welsh Show provides the perfect setting to bring football into the heart of Welsh communities, introducing families to the club and showcasing the opportunities available for girls and young people to become involved in the sport.

Alongside the coaching activities, representatives from the club will be available throughout the day to meet visitors, answer questions about Gwalia United’s player pathway, community programmes and opportunities, while sharing the club’s vision for the future of women’s football in Wales.

Gwalia United Partnership Manager Hannah Mills said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be part of such a quintessential Welsh occasion and one of the country’s landmark festivals. The Royal Welsh Show celebrates everything that makes Wales special, from its communities and culture to its people, so it’s a fantastic place for Gwalia United to be.

“We’re looking forward to meeting as many people as possible, introducing them to our club and sharing the exciting journey we’re on. It’s also a brilliant opportunity to inspire more girls to play football and continue spreading the word about the growth of women’s football across Wales. We can’t wait to see lots of children taking part in the coaching session and enjoying the day with us.”

The Royal Welsh Show is recognised as one of Europe’s premier agricultural and rural events, bringing together more than 200,000 visitors over four days to celebrate Welsh life, culture and community. It provides an ideal opportunity for Gwalia United to further strengthen its connection with supporters from every corner of the country while continuing its mission to inspire the next generation of Welsh footballers.
