Gwalia United return to FA Women’s National League action this Sunday with a trip to Devon to take on Torquay United, with kick-off at Plainmoor set for 2pm.
Having got their FA Women’s National League Cup campaign under way with a 1-1 draw away to Southern Premier side Cheltenham Town on Thursday evening, Gwalia will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season against the Gulls.
Torquay, who were promoted back to the FA Women’s National League last season after finishing the 2025-26 campaign as South West Regional Women’s Football League champions, will be looking to build on their midweek League Cup win over fellow Division One South West side Bridgwater United, secured thanks to a Sarah Stacey penalty.
Although Ryan Perks’ side narrowly lost their opening league fixture away to Wycombe Wanderers, they picked up their first three points of the league campaign with a 6-0 win over Ascot United at Plainmoor.
The midweek FA Women’s National League Cup Group C fixture against Cheltenham gave Gwalia the opportunity to hand important game time to more players from their young squad, which has an average age of just 22. Sixteen-year-old Elin Thomas impressed, while Molly Kehoe’s stunning second-half free-kick secured a point on the road in Gloucestershire.
Gwalia will be looking to build on their unbeaten start to the season, having won both of their league fixtures to date, with manager Cori Williams-Mills clear about the club’s objectives this season.
Speaking to BBC Sport, former Wales international Williams-Mills, who was appointed in January, said:
“We want to win the league, we’ve got a group of players who want to be here and fight for what we’re trying to do.”
“We know what our ambitions are and we’re not hiding from the fact that we want to go and win the league. We’ve just got to go and do it now.”

Travel
Travelling Gwalia United supporters face a journey of around 132 miles, taking roughly two hours 30 minutes, from the USW Sport Park to Plainmoor Stadium.
Plainmoor is situated in St Marychurch, an area of Torquay that is within a mile or so walking distance of Torquay town centre.
Fans travelling by car can use the South Devon Link Road, which runs from Newton Abbot to Torquay and allows quick access for home and away supporters. There is no dedicated parking at Plainmoor, so fans are advised to arrive early to find street parking on the numerous roads around the stadium.
Bus service 35A can be picked up from Torquay Harbourside and will bring supporters to the shops in Plainmoor, with the Wollens Terrace away end just a five-minute walk from there.
Torre Station is the nearest rail stop to Plainmoor, with the stadium a 25-minute walk away.

Tickets for the game are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for under-18s.
