Almost an exact calendar year to this very day, Gwalia United played Keynsham Town in FAWNL League Cup fixture away at Keynsham, won by a late strike by Katie Quick. On that day, one of the reasons that made that evening fixture particularly challenging for the Gwalia attack was the presence of Keynsham defender Megan Bible, who had been playing for the senior women’s team since the age of 16. Little did any of us know that fast forward twelve months, Bible would be lining up alongside Quick in an increasingly formidable-looking defence.
Gwalia United have secured a significant defensive asset with the signing of Megan Bible, highlighted by the player of the match award in the recent game against Cheltenham Town at Kayne Lane. Megan is an accomplished and composed defender who brings both tactical intelligence and elite youth experience to the first-team squad. Her arrival reinforces the club’s defensive unit and underscores a further commitment to developing top-tier footballing talent.
Bible’s footballing foundation was established within the highly regarded SGS College football academy, where her standout defensive capabilities quickly attracted attention and earned her the ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ award. Her consistent performances culminated in selection for the England Colleges FA representative squad during the 2025/26 season.
This international college exposure, combined with competitive senior appearances for Keynsham Town in the FA Women’s National League, provided Bible with the physical grit and tactical awareness necessary to transition seamlessly into senior football.
Signing for Gwalia United in August 2026, Bible has adapted swiftly to the demands of the club. As a traditional yet modern defender, she excels in individual duels, displays
exceptional positional discipline, and reads the phases of play with maturity beyond her years. Beyond her defensive duties, Bible serves as a vital starting point for the team’s
attacking transitions, recently demonstrating her ability and passing range to launch counterattacks from the backline.
An England Colleges international in 2025 and Welsh-qualified through her father’s side of the family, she is beginning to write a story of her own. Her Player of the Match performance against Cheltenham Town was testament to the diligence, work ethic and determination she has brought to her football. It was another chapter in what is becoming an increasingly compelling story, and, if her recent form is anything to go by, Megan Bible is only just beginning to write it.
