Half-time: Gwalia United 1-1 Lewes. An even affair so far, with both goals scored in the opening 11 minutes. Keira O’Keefe got the opener, volleying past Eva-Jean Young to give Gwalia an early lead.
Two quickfire chances from Daisy Ackerman were defended well by the visitors. However, Lewes got the equaliser, with Leah Lane bearing down on goal from the left, placing the ball past Benni Haaland to level the score.

Full-Time: Gwalia United 2-3 Lewes. A resilient performance but not the result we were hoping for. After level at the break, Paula Howells gave Lewes the lead, five minutes into the half. Lane then followed up with her second 14 minutes later, passing the ball from close range into an open net.
Gwalia made a nervy final few minutes, Tia Asker sent in a cross, intending to threat the opposition, the ball was turned into her own net by Rebekah Trewhitt to make it 2-3.
Next up, we travel to Bedford to take on Real Bedford, next Sunday. Kick-off is at 2pm.
