Oxford United v Gwalia United – Match Preview

United face United as Gwalia travel to Oxford in our latest Southern Premier Division assignment, at the MG Group Stadium on Sunday. Kick-off is at 2pm. Last time out, an away trip to Plymouth in the FA Cup saw us bow out in the second round, as we were defeated 2-0.

A Phoebe Poole double was the difference between the sides at Home Park.

In the league, it has been three weeks since Gwalia’s last game, losing to a formidable Watford side. Isabella Fisher’s double, Megan Chandler, Poppy Wilson and a Madison Perry hat-trick moved the Hornets top of the table. Last weekend’s home match versus Exeter City was rearranged due to international call-ups. Next Sunday (14th December), will be when the game is played at our USW Sport Park base (2pm kick-off).

For Oxford, they played last weekend, winning at the Dripping Pan, beating Lewes 1-0, with Emma Thompson’s goal enough to seal three points, where they sit in seventh, with 14 points; four more than Gwalia, playing a game more.

Previously, Gwalia hosted Oxford on the opening matchday of the season, losing 1-0. Holly Turner’s goal was the winner in that match at the USW Sport Park.
