This week’s feature player: Cori Williams-Mills
Cori Williams-Mills, our captain and one of Gwalia United’s longest-serving players, brings invaluable experience and leadership to the team. Having developed her skills at Treherbert & Ferndale in her youth before establishing herself as a key figure at Cardiff/Gwalia, she is widely regarded as one of the most respected and admired Welsh footballers of her generation.

A prolific striker with a natural goal-scoring instinct, she quickly made her mark as a formidable forward. Even this season—despite being sidelined for much of the 2024-25 campaign due to injury—she showcased her striking prowess by netting five goals in just four games. Her outstanding performances at club level have earned her national recognition, leading to a distinguished career representing Wales, an achievement she describes as “no other feeling coming close.”
Cori throughout her career has been instrumental in driving Welsh women’s football forward, inspiring future generations of players. Her contributions are not limited to the pitch, as Cori plays a vital role in mentoring younger players, sharing her experience and passion for the game.

As Gwalia United celebrates its rich history, we proudly recognise Cori’s journey from a promising young footballer to a respected figure in Welsh women’s football. Her impact on the club and the sport as a whole embodies the values and spirit of Gwalia United.
