Gwalia United v Plymouth Argyle – Match Preview

After three weeks away, Gwalia United host Plymouth Argyle at the USW Sport Park in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division on Sunday. Kick-off is at 2pm.

In our last match, we faced Moneyfields in the semi-final of the FA Women’s National League Plate semi-final, losing 2-0 from goals by Shannon Albuery and Brooke Garcia.

Whilst in the league a fortnight ago, Gwalia were held to 0-0 away at Hashtag United, leaving Essex with a valuable point, making it four points from the six available in the league in 2026. It has been a busy week of incomings for Gwalia, with Anna Powell, Imi Scourfield and Molly Kehoe all joining the club.

Plymouth currently sit in second, two points behind leaders Watford. In the FAWNL Cup, they defeated Burnley 4-1 at Home Park. Braces for both Tianna Teisar and Phoebe Poole emphatically booked Argyle’s place in the final. In their last league outing, they defeated Billericay Town 9-0 at the New Lodge. A hat-trick from Una Lue, braces from Olivia Francis and Tianna Teisar, along with finishes Ellie Noble and Katie Wilson capping off a clinical victory away from home.

Sunday’s match will be the third match between the sides this season. The previous two encounters finished in Plymouth’s favour at Home Park, securing victories in both the league and FA Cup back in November.
