Gwalia United are delighted to confirm the introduction of a new Under-16s side ahead of the 2026/27 season, representing another significant milestone in the club’s long-term commitment to developing the next generation of players.
Following the recent confirmation of the club’s Under-17s programme, the addition of an Under-16s team completes a crucial stage in Gwalia United’s player pathway, creating a clear and connected route for talented young players to progress through the club and towards senior football.
The new side will form an integral part of Gwalia United’s wider football structure, with close alignment between the pathway and the senior squad. Coaching philosophies, playing principles and development objectives will be integrated across all age groups, ensuring players experience a consistent environment as they move through the pathway.
The establishment of the Under-16s programme marks another important step in the club’s ambition to build one of the strongest female player development systems in Wales, providing aspiring footballers with the opportunity to learn, compete and develop within the Gwalia United environment.
To support the launch of the new team, Gwalia United will be holding an open training session for players interested in becoming part of the Under-16s squad for the upcoming season.
