Gwalia United will look to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season when they make the trip to Buckinghamshire on Sunday to face Wycombe Wanderers at the 1878 Stadium, with kick-off at 2pm.
Cori Williams-Mills’ side saw their unbeaten start to the FA Women’s National League Division One South West campaign ended last weekend by league leaders Moneyfields, who won 2-1 at USW Sport Park despite Kylie Nolan giving the hosts an early lead. Sunday’s fixture, against a Wycombe side newly promoted to the division, represents an opportunity for Gwalia to return to winning ways – and to maintain their unbeaten record on the road with a first-ever visit to the home of Burnham FC.
Wycombe Wanderers Women, known to their supporters as W3, arrived in Division One South West this season after securing promotion from the Southern Region Women’s Premier League, and they too head into the weekend on the back of their first league defeat of the campaign. The Chairgirls had won three of their opening four fixtures before Bristol Rovers came from behind to win at the 1878 Stadium last Sunday, Anaisa Harney’s opener for the hosts not enough to prevent defeat.
Gwalia’s afternoon against Moneyfields, meanwhile, was anything but straightforward for the visitors. Nolan’s finish had given the home side a deserved lead, and it took a string of outstanding saves from Moneyfields goalkeeper Mia King, to deny Williams-Mills’ side a share of the spoils. The manager will nevertheless have taken encouragement from the performance, with her side matching one of the division’s form teams for long periods of the contest.

Getting There
Wycombe Wanderers play their home fixtures at the 1878 Stadium in Burnham, Buckinghamshire, close to Slough. Supporters travelling from USW Sport Park face a journey of around 132 miles, expected to take approximately two hours and 15 minutes.
The stadium (postcode SL1 8JG) is located on Wymers Wood Road, around two miles from Junction 7 of the M4 at Slough.
There are approximately 100 free parking spaces at the ground, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Supporters are asked to park as closely as possible to neighbouring vehicles, and not to park in spaces reserved for Burnham FC management or in front of the double gates that provide access for emergency services.
The stadium offers wheelchair access, with toilets available both inside the Blues Bar and Café and at the end of the main stand.
The ground has a capacity of 2,500, including 300 covered seats in the main stand, with a further small covered standing area on the far side of the pitch.
Admission on the day is £6 for adults, £3 concessions and £1 for under-18s, with under-5s admitted free. Tickets are available at the ground on match day only.
