Gwalia United announce Majestic Media Partnership

Club appoints Swansea-based agency as Official Content Partner for the 2026/27 season

Gwalia United is delighted to announce a new partnership with Majestic Media, a Swansea-based media and digital marketing consultancy, who will join the club as Official Content Partner and Digital Media Consultant for the 2026/27 season.

The agreement sees Majestic Media support the club’s continued growth on and off the pitch, as Gwalia United looks to build on its position as the only Welsh women’s club competing in the English football pyramid.

Why It Matters

Gwalia United remain the only Welsh club playing in the English women’s football pyramid, a status that comes with its own weight of responsibility: representing Wales week in, week out on a UK-wide stage. Behind that representation sits a genuine pathway – a club that has turned home-grown talent into full Welsh internationals, and continues to do so with players in the current squad who have worn the Wales shirt at both age-group and senior level.

Telling that story properly takes more than a matchday programme. That’s where Majestic Media comes in.

From Llanedeyrn to Gwalia – A Club Reinvented

The club’s roots run deep. Founded in 1975 as Llanedeyrn L.F.C. following a local charity match, it went through several names and guises over the following decades – including a long spell as Cardiff City Ladies – before members voted in 2003 to become fully independent, adopting a crest built around the Welsh red dragon.

Along the way came real success, including the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division title in 2006 and a Welsh Women’s Cup win that took the club into the UEFA Women’s Cup.

Ahead of the 2024/25 season, that history was distilled into a new name: Gwalia United, the old Welsh word for Wales itself – chosen to capture the heritage, resilience and pride the club has carried since 1975.

What Changes This Season

Majestic Media’s role will cover:

  • Editorial content for website and social media
  • Strategic social media and email marketing guidance
  • Discretionary photography coverage at fixtures throughout the season

In return, the club will recognise Majestic Media as an Official Partner across its channels and matchday materials, with access arrangements in place to support delivery of the work.

In Their Words

Gwalia United co-owner Julian Jenkins said:

“We’re really excited to be partnering with Majestic Media. Their creative expertise and experience in sports content will be a huge asset to the club, and it’s a partnership that feels like a natural fit. Our values are aligned, and together we can help grow the profile of Gwalia United while supporting the continued growth of women’s football in Wales.”

Majestic Media Director Duncan Thomas added:

“Gwalia United’s story is one of the most exciting in Welsh football right now. This is a club with a clear identity, real history behind it, and huge ambition ahead of it. We’re looking forward to helping tell that story – on and off the pitch – throughout the season.”

Looking Forward

The partnership covers the 2026/27 season, with scope to continue beyond it. For a club already carrying Wales’ flag into English football, it’s another step toward matching that ambition with the profile it deserves.

Supporters can follow updates throughout the season via the club’s official channels on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and LinkedIn.
