Gwalia United FC are proud to announce a new partnership with Once Sport Software, a move that will enhance the club’s analysis capabilities and bring elite-level tools to their women’s football programme. The collaboration with Once Sport Software will provide Gwalia United with a cutting-edge video analysis platform that is already used by professional clubs and national teams across Europe and beyond. As part of the agreement, the club will gain access to a range of advanced tools for tactical review, individual player development, and opposition analysis, all within a streamlined and user-friendly system.

Gwalia United Manager, James Thomas, welcomed the partnership as a major step forward in the club’s ambition to deliver a high-performance environment for players and coaches.

“At Gwalia, we’ve always said we want to be a forward-thinking club — this partnership with Once proves that,” said Thomas. “It gives us the technology and flexibility to analyse our performances in real time, review them with the players in a meaningful way, and keep building towards the standards we’ve set as a part of us reaching our ambitions.”

The Once platform allows coaches to tag video clips live during matches or training sessions and quickly turn them into insightful review packages.

“What really stood out for us was how intuitive the software is,” continued Thomas. “In football — time is always a factor. We need tools that help us get more from every session, every game. Once allows us to do that without overloading the players or the coaching team.”

This partnership marks another milestone in Gwalia United’s evolution. Since the club’s foundation, Gwalia have been determined to blend high performance with a community-first ethos, supporting women and girls across the pathway from grassroots to senior football. The software will be rolled out across the 2025–26 season, beginning with pre-season fixtures, where Gwalia’s staff will begin building a database of tactical clips, player trends, and team shape analysis. The club will also be working with Once’s support team to ensure all coaches and analysts are fully trained and confident with the platform.

The decision to partner with Once Sport Software follows a thorough evaluation process led by the club’s technical and operations staff. Thomas states “They understood who we are as a club — they weren’t just selling us a product, they were interested in being part of our journey. That matters to us.”

Once Sport Software has grown rapidly in recent years, gaining recognition for its streamlined interface, real-time tagging, and comprehensive support for coaches and players alike. The partnership with Gwalia United marks a further expansion of the company’s presence in Welsh football and its commitment to supporting the women’s game. The team at Once expressed their excitement about joining forces with Gwalia United, citing the club’s ambitious vision and grassroots foundations as key reasons for the collaboration.

As Gwalia United continue their rise in the Women’s National League, this partnership represents not just a technical upgrade but a cultural alignment — bringing together two organisations committed to innovation, development, and raising the standard of the women’s game in Wales.

“This is a statement of intent,” concluded Thomas. “We’re not just here to take part — we’re here to set standards. And with Once on board, we’re adding another powerful tool to help us do exactly that.”
