Neil Moore Joins Gwalia United

Gwalia United are thrilled to confirm the appointment of Neil Moore as the club’s new Goalkeeping Coach. With a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the women’s game, Moore’s arrival is a major boost as the club continues to build an elite environment for players and staff alike. Moore has led goalkeeping departments at top clubs including Everton Women, Leicester City Women, Charlton Athletic Women, and Bristol City Women. He brings with him an exceptional coaching pedigree, having worked across both the Barclays Women’s Super League and the Championship. Most notably, he was part of the Everton Women coaching staff that reached the FA Cup Final – a testament to his ability to contribute at the highest level of competition.

Across his career, Moore has played a key role in developing goalkeepers who have gone on to shine domestically and internationally. These include England’s Sophie Baggaley, Scotland internationals Sandy MacIver and Eartha Cumings, long-time Finland captain Tinja-Riikka Korpela, Dutch international Lize Kop, and Germany U23’s Janina Leitzig. His track record in identifying and nurturing top-tier talent is well-established and widely respected across the game.

Moore holds both the UEFA A Goalkeeping Licence and the UEFA A Outfield Licence – a rare combination that gives him a deep understanding of both specialist and team coaching. His experience and qualifications make him uniquely positioned to enhance not only the club’s goalkeeping programme, but the overall performance culture at Gwalia United.

Speaking about the appointment, Gwalia United Manager James Thomas said:

“Adding Neil to our team is a significant moment for the club. He’s worked in high-performance environments and helped shape the careers of some of the best goalkeepers in the women’s game. His knowledge, standards and expertise will have a huge impact, not only on our goalkeepers but on our wider squad and staff team.”

“As a club, we want to surround our players with the best support possible – and Neil’s arrival is a clear step towards that. His presence shows the direction we’re heading in and our ambition to match the standards of the top tiers of the women’s game.”

Gwalia United remain committed to building a culture of excellence on and off the pitch, and the addition of Neil Moore marks another major milestone on that journey.
