Wales International Amina Vine Joins Gwalia United

Gwalia United are delighted to announce that Wales international Amina Vine will join them ahead of the 2025/26 season. The versatile defender and midfielder will line up alongside her sister Shurima, already an established presence within the Gwalia squad.

Amina brings a wealth of experience to the club, having featured in senior international squads for Wales from a young age. She was involved in several senior national team qualification campaigns, gaining exposure to top-level competition early in her career. Despite still being only in her early twenties, she already boasts invaluable experience at both club and international level.

Gwalia manager James Thomas expressed his excitement at being reunited with Vine, having previously worked with her in national team environments.

“I’m really pleased to bring Amina into the club. For someone still young she has so much experience at both club and national team level and I can’t wait to work with her again,” said Thomas.

“Amina spent a lot of time as a very young player in the Wales senior national team group during qualification campaigns, so those experiences and the clear level of ability that she possesses will be a huge asset to us as a club as we progress forward.”

“There are so many attributes to talk about with Amina but her technical ability on the ball, combative nature, desire to win and the ability to play across the back line and midfield will prove invaluable for us as a team.”

Amina’s arrival marks another statement of intent from Gwalia United as the club continues to build a squad capable of competing at higher levels of the domestic game. Her signing also reinforces the club’s ambition to provide a platform for top Welsh talent to thrive within the national league structure.

Speaking about her move, Amina said:

“I’m really happy to be joining Gwalia and to be playing alongside Shurima again is a bonus. I’ve had great conversations with James about the direction the club is heading and I’m excited to be part of that journey.”

Amina Vine will join up with her new teammates when pre-season begins later this month.
